Arjun Rampal has embarked on an exciting new journey with Billionaire, which commenced with a traditional mahurat puja on the auspicious occasion of Navratri.

The big-scale business drama, directed by Hansal Mehta and Robbie Grewal, marks the first-ever collaboration between the two acclaimed filmmakers. Produced by Prabhleen Sandhu under the banner of Almighty Motion Picture, the series is set to begin its extensive 45-day shooting schedule in the United Kingdom from November 15.

Arjun Rampal also took to his Instagram handle to share his joy and excitement about the new beginning.

The actor is currently enjoying the enormous success of the Dhurandhar duology. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar, the first film, released in December 2025 and became a blockbuster after taking just a decent start at the box office. The second film, Dhurandhar The Revenge, which released in March this year, turned out to be a blockbuster of mammoth proportions and the highest grossing Hindi film till date by earning over Rs. 1000 crores at the domestic box office itself. Arjun’s act as the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) chief Major Iqbal was also highly praised.

Written by Anubhav Chopra and Shantanu Sagara, with dialogues by Karan Vyas, Billionaire promises a gripping tale of ambition, power and the high-stakes world of business.

The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video.

Mahaveer Jain Films, which has been backing several exciting projects across genres, is all set to present an ambitious Kannada sci-fi social thriller, Lambodhara 2.0. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned that the film, directed by acclaimed Kannada filmmaker Simple Suni, will release in cinemas on November 20, 2026, in Kannada and Hindi. Its exciting first look will be unveiled later this week, on Wednesday, October 14.

The film stars the talented and dashing actor Kunal Kapoor, Saachi Bindra and debutant Anil Shetty. Interestingly, Lambodhara 2.0 also features a real humanoid robot named JIA, making it one of the most intriguing aspects of the project.

Set in a world increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence and digital validation, Lambodhara 2.0 raises an interesting question: Can technology truly make human beings happy? Blending suspense, humour, entertainment and thought-provoking ideas, the film explores the intersection of artificial intelligence, human emotions, happiness and free will.

Meanwhile, Mahaveer Jain has an interesting slate of films lined up. He, along with Rajshri Productions, is also producing Yeh Prem Mol Liya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari. He has also announced RamBola, which will be directed by Vishal Chaturvedi of Hanuman Ansh fame. Another exciting project associated with Mahaveer Jain is Naagzilla, starring Kartik Aaryan, which is scheduled to release in cinemas on February 12, 2027. A few weeks ago, Bollywood Hungama had exclusively reported that Mahaveer Jain Films is producing a devotional drama fronted by Ravi Kishan.

Marking the first day of Navratri with a special announcement, the makers of Ramayana have unveiled a new ensemble poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Yash as Ravana, while announcing that Part 1 of the two-part epic will release worldwide on November 5, 2026. The makers also confirmed that the advance bookings will open this Dussehra.

The poster captures Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman in the foreground, while Yash’s Ravana towers over them, creating a visual contrast between the characters at the heart of the story.

Bringing one of the world’s most revered epics to the big screen, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Rocking Star Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with 8-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is envisioned as a two-part epic. Part 1 will release worldwide on November 5, 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam across India. Superstar Salman Khan is all set to get onto intense work mode as his upcoming action drama Monster enters its final and most intense stretch of filming. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, the Pan-India project is officially charging towards the finish line, with the superstar gearing up for a 50-day schedule dedicated entirely to high-stakes, close-quarter combat sequences.

The team has set up base at a studio in Mira Road to film these action sequences. Moving away from slick, glossy effects, the makers are aiming for a raw and grounded action experience, with Salman at the centre of intense, hand-to-hand combat against his opponents.

Ever since principal photography began in Mumbai in mid-April 2026, Monster has been mounted on a massive scale. The film completed a packed six-week schedule in Goregaon this August, featuring large-scale action set-pieces, crowd sequences and an elaborate Afghan village setup. This was followed by a focused 10-day combat training schedule in Mumbai in September.

Salman Khan is balancing his Bigg Boss 20 commitments with the physically demanding action schedule, keping the film firmly on track for a November wrap. With filming entering its final lap, the team will move directly into post-production to prepare for its Eid 2027 theatrical release.

Ajay Devgn delivered a blockbuster this year with Drishyam The Conclusion, which was released during the lucrative October 2 weekend. Interestingly, the actor is gearing up for another release around the same period next year, Chauhaan. Bollywood Hungama has learned that Ajay recently began shooting for the war drama in Kargil, Ladakh.

A source from Ladakh told Bollywood Hungama, “Ajay Devgn is shooting for Chauhaan in Kargil. He arrived here a few days ago and has already begun filming. Some key scenes will be shot in this picturesque town. The makers had obtained the necessary permissions in advance and have made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the shoot goes smoothly.”

The source continued, “It’s quite cold here in Kargil, and the weather will surely add an authentic touch to the scenes of Chauhaan.”

Interestingly, this is not the first time Ajay Devgn is shooting in Ladakh. He had earlier filmed some crucial scenes for J P Dutta’s war film LOC: Kargil (2003) in the mountainous region. At that time, Ladakh was part of the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir. It became a separate Union Territory in 2019, with Leh and Kargil as its two capitals.

Chauhaan is directed by Neeraj Yadav and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions. The film was announced on June 25, 2026, on the birth anniversary of the late action director Veeru Devgan, Ajay Devgn’s father. It is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 1, 2027.

The announcement video featured the song ‘Jumma Chumma De De’ playing in the background and ended with the dialogue, “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai.” The film marks Ajay Devgn’s first collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai. Jio Studios serves as both presenter and producer on the project.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar was cremated at his Pune farmhouse on Thursday, October 8, following his sudden demise earlier that morning. The actor was accorded full state honours, as announced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema and his social welfare initiatives. Fadnavis, along with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, was also seen paying his respects to the late actor at Pune airport.

Although Nana Patekar passed away in Goa, his mortal remains were brought to Pune in accordance with his wishes. According to reports, the actor had expressed his desire to be cremated at his Donje farmhouse in Pune. His son, Malhar Patekar, performed the last rites and lit the funeral pyre in the presence of family members, friends and colleagues from the film industry.

Several prominent personalities attended the funeral to pay their final respects to the veteran actor. Among those present were Jackie Shroff, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and filmmaker Anil Sharma, along with other members of the entertainment fraternity. The gathering reflected the impact Patekar had made through his work over a career spanning several decades.

The Maharashtra government's decision to accord him a state funeral recognised not only his cinematic legacy but also his contributions to society through the Naam Foundation, which he co-founded with actor Makarand Anaspure to support drought-affected farmers and rural communities.

Nana Patekar's demise: What happened?

Nana Patekar, a Padma Shri recipient known for his acclaimed performances across Hindi and Marathi cinema, passed away at the age of 75 in the early hours of Thursday, October 8, 2026.

According to reports, the actor suffered a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He was found unresponsive early in the morning and rushed to Manipal Hospital, where medical personnel reportedly attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for approximately 45 minutes. However, he could not be revived and was declared dead at around 5:20 AM IST. His son, Malhar Patekar, subsequently confirmed the news.

Known for his intense screen presence and memorable performances, Patekar leaves behind a significant body of work spanning multiple genres and languages. His passing has prompted tributes from colleagues, admirers and members of the film fraternity, as the industry remembers an actor whose contributions extended beyond the screen.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away on Thursday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence. Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, has now shared details of the actor’s final hours, revealing that the actor was brought to the hospital in an unresponsive state and could not be revived despite prolonged resuscitation efforts.

Speaking to ANI, Dr. Salkar said, “Nana Patekar was brought dead to the hospital. He was declared dead by 5:30 am. We had tried our best to save him, but he was brought dead. Cardiac massage was given for almost 45 minutes to an hour, but he just could not be saved.” Nana Patekar had messaged friend around 2:30 AM According to Dr. Salkar, Nana Patekar had reportedly messaged a friend around 2:30 AM saying that he was not feeling well. However, as it was nighttime, the friend did not see the message immediately.

The friend later called Nana and went to his residence at around 4 AM. By then, the actor was reportedly sweating and his condition was deteriorating.

“As per what we recalled, at around 2:30, he sent a message to his friend that he was not feeling well. But as it was nighttime, his friend could not see the message. So he just called him. He went to his house at around 4 o'clock. By that time, he was sweating and all,” Dr. Salkar told ANI.

The people present at the residence then began taking primary measures before arranging medical assistance. Dr. Salkar said Nana was gradually becoming unconscious, following which his caretaker was sent to the hospital to seek help. Emergency team attempted resuscitation Dr. Salkar said the hospital’s emergency response team went to Nana Patekar’s residence and began cardiac massage as he was completely unresponsive.

“He was slowly becoming unconscious. So they sent his caretaker to the hospital. He took our ambulance. When our ER team went there, they started cardiac massage because he was totally unresponsive,” he said.

The actor was subsequently shifted to Manipal Hospital at around 4:20 or 4:30 AM. Doctors continued their efforts to revive him, but he could not be saved.

“We also tried our best, but he was brought dead,” Dr. Salkar said. Body taken for post-mortem Following Nana Patekar’s death, a police case was filed as the matter falls under a medico-legal case (MLC). Dr. Salkar also confirmed that the actor’s body has been taken to Goa Medical College for a post-mortem examination.

“Then we had to file a police case because there's an MLC (medico-legal case). The body has now been taken to the Goa Medical College for post-mortem,” he said.

According to the doctor, Nana’s family members were not present at the time. His friends and a caretaker were with him.

“His family was not there. His friends were there with him and a caretaker,” Dr. Salkar added.

Nana Patekar was 75. He began his film career with Gaman in 1978 and went on to establish himself as one of Indian cinema’s most acclaimed actors, with notable performances in Salaam Bombay!, Parinda, Prahaar, Welcome, Ab Tak Chhappan, Natsamrat and Housefull 5.

His most recent release was Subedaar, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in March 2026 and featured Nana in a cameo as Lance Naik Nana Waghmare. His last substantial theatrical role was in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo, released in February 2026, where he played Mumbai Intelligence Bureau chief Ismail Khan opposite Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.

Actor Shakti Kapoor and his daughter, actor Shraddha Kapoor, have leased a residential apartment in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi area to Akshat Khetan for a monthly rent of Rs 2.5 lakhs. The details are based on the registered leave and licence agreement accessed by CRE Matrix. The 1,050 sq ft apartment is located on the third floor of Piramal Mahalaxmi South Tower. The agreement was registered on June 26, 2026, with the 36-month lease commencing on July 1, 2026. It will remain valid until June 30, 2029.

According to the agreement, the monthly rent has been fixed at Rs 2.5 lakhs for the first year of the lease. The rent will increase by 5% annually, taking it to Rs 2.625 lakhs per month during the second year. For the final 12 months, the monthly rent will rise further to approximately Rs 2.756 lakhs.

Across the entire three-year lease period, the total rental payment is estimated at around Rs 94.58 lakhs. Khetan has also paid an interest-free refundable security deposit of Rs 7.5 lakhs.

The agreement includes a 12-month lock-in period, during which neither the landlord nor the tenant can terminate the lease without facing the consequences outlined in the contract. The leased apartment measures 1,050 sq ft and is situated in Piramal Mahalaxmi South Tower, located on G B Sakpal Marg and San Guruji Marg in Mahalaxmi East, Mumbai.

The latest transaction is notable as it comes a little over a year after Shraddha Kapoor and Shakti Kapoor jointly purchased another apartment in the same tower. Shraddha Kapoor and Shakti Kapoor’s earlier purchase In January 2025, the father-daughter duo jointly purchased a 1,042.73 sq ft apartment in Piramal Mahalaxmi South Tower for Rs 6.24 crores.

The earlier property transaction was registered on January 13, 2025. The latest lease agreement involving another apartment in the same residential development adds to the family’s property activity in the Mahalaxmi area.

The new three-year lease will remain in effect until June 2029, with the rent increasing by 5% in each subsequent year as specified in the agreement.

His performances in films such as Salaam Bombay! and Parinda brought him wider recognition. Salaam Bombay!, directed by Mira Nair, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In Parinda, Patekar played a gangster, a performance that earned him the National Film Award and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

The making of Parinda was also physically demanding for the actor. He suffered serious burns while filming a real-fire sequence and spent months recovering in hospital. Earlier, he had also been stabbed during the shooting of Salaam Bombay!.

Patekar later moved behind the camera with Prahaar: The Final Attack, which he directed and starred in. For the 1991 film, he underwent training with the Territorial Army.

Patekar remained active on screen in the years leading up to his death. His most recent released film was Subedaar, the Amazon Prime Video action drama starring Anil Kapoor. The film premiered on March 5, 2026, with Patekar making a special appearance as Lance Naik Nana Waghmare.

The Delhi High Court has sought a response from Salman Khan in connection with an application filed by filmmaker Amit Jani, who has sought a stay on proceedings in the actor’s civil suit concerning the proposed film Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy. The matter was heard before Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani, with Jani’s counsel arguing that the reliefs sought by Khan in the present proceedings substantially overlap with those in an earlier suit that is already pending adjudication before the High Court.

During the hearing, Jani’s legal team contended that Khan has effectively initiated parallel litigation concerning the same subject matter. On that basis, counsel argued that proceedings in the subsequent suit should remain stayed until the earlier matter is finally decided. Representing Salman Khan, Senior Advocate Ravi Prakash undertook to place the actor’s formal counter-affidavit on record in response to the application. The court also sought clarity on the precise basis of the relief being pursued by Khan. Explaining the background, Prakash submitted that the actor had initially approached the court seeking protection of his personality and publicity rights. The proceedings resulted in interim protection being granted to Khan in December 2025. According to Khan’s counsel, following the interim order, the filmmakers released promotional material and gave interviews to the media that allegedly drew direct parallels between the film and aspects of the actor’s life, including the widely known 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. Khan’s legal team argued that the alleged depiction was sufficiently identifiable with the actor’s persona and could cause significant reputational harm. The actor subsequently sought the court’s intervention to prevent the circulation of promotional and publicity material connected to the film and to restrain its proposed release. The dispute escalated further in July 2026, when the Delhi High Court directed the removal of the film’s initial digital teaser and certain promotional posts from social media. The court also directed the filmmakers not to use Salman Khan’s name, likeness or identifiable characteristics without his consent. The proceedings later turned towards the question of the film’s proposed distribution and release. During those hearings, Jani’s side submitted that Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy was neither complete nor submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for theatrical certification at that stage. The filmmaker’s side also maintained that an official trailer for the film had not yet been released or circulated. The possibility of a direct-to-digital release also came into consideration during the proceedings. While the film’s theatrical status and certification position were raised before the court, the bench also considered Khan’s apprehensions regarding the possibility of the film or related promotional material being disseminated directly through digital platforms, including an OTT release. Amit Jani’s side has continued to oppose the reliefs sought by Salman Khan, maintaining its position against the actor’s requests for injunctions. The latest hearing, therefore, focused on the procedural objection raised by the filmmaker regarding the overlap between the present proceedings and the earlier matter pending before the High Court. Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani has now directed Salman Khan’s counsel to place the actor’s detailed response on record. The matter has been listed for a further comprehensive hearing on December 16, 2026. Kriti Sanon has revisited the controversy surrounding her GIVA jewellery advertisement, recalling how the campaign’s fashion choices became the subject of intense television debates. During her appearance on Season 6 of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s What Women Want, the actress reflected on the scrutiny female celebrities often face over their clothing and admitted that she was surprised by the scale of the discussion around her outfit.

The conversation touched upon moral policing and the disproportionate attention often directed towards women in the public eye. Recalling the aftermath of the GIVA campaign, Sanon said, “I couldn’t believe… when my choli had become like a six-person panel discussion on prime-time news.” Kareena immediately acknowledged her sentiment, responding, “I know.”

The controversy dates back to GIVA’s Raksha Bandhan campaign featuring Sanon. Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut also reacted to the campaign at the time, criticising Sanon’s outfit and comparing the top to a “bikini”. Following the backlash, GIVA issued a public apology and withdrew the campaign from its television and digital platforms.

Sanon had responded to the criticism at the time, questioning the focus on women’s clothing and arguing that fashion and cultural identity should not be reduced to what a woman wears. She wrote, “Also, when will we stop telling women what to wear?? Ethnic fashion has evolved over the years, but still a woman's respect for her culture is measured with just her clothes!! Culture & Traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline!”

The actress’ latest comments on What Women Want bring the episode back into focus, particularly the extent to which a fashion choice can become a larger public debate when a celebrity is at the centre of it.
